(In Ghana) Suspended CJ Gertrude Torkornoo Refuses to Resign, Cites Political Motivation

 


Suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo has addressed the media, speaking out against her controversial suspension.


Speaking at a press conference today June 25, the suspended Chief Justice who's currently facing legal battles, emphasized that resignation from her position or an acceptance of early retirement are not acceptable options to her.

Gertrude Torkornoo emphasized that a resignation or acceptance of early retirement would be an admission that the allegedly politically motivated manner in which she was removed from office, is acceptable.

The suspended Chief Justice further referred to her ongoing legal battle as proof that there's a current twist in Ghana's democratic process.
