Germany, France, and UK Ready to Hold Talks with Iran, Says German Minister

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul announced that Germany, France, and Britain are prepared to hold immediate negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program in an effort to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. During a visit to the region, Wadephul emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue and expressed hope that Iran would accept their offer for talks.

Wadephul highlighted that Iran had previously missed opportunities for meaningful negotiations and stressed that resolving the nuclear issue is a crucial step toward ending the broader conflict in the region. The German foreign minister stated, "I hope that's still possible," and underscored that addressing Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional influence is key to pacifying the current violence.

He also pointed out that the conflict can only be resolved when all sides exert influence, including diplomacy from Iran and Israel. Wadephul called for a serious effort within the next week to break the spiral of violence and prevent further escalation.

Turning to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Wadephul condemned the ongoing suffering of civilians, urging Israel to grant unrestricted access to aid organizations. He blamed Hamas for the conflict and called for the release of hostages taken since the October 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel.
