Tottenham's Bergvall Out of Europa League Final with Ankle Injury

 

Lucas Bergvall is makind waves in the United Kingdom because Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed that the 19-year-old midfielder will miss the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United due to an ankle ligament injury sustained during training ahead of the semi-final first leg against Bodø/Glimt.  

Despite his absence, Bergvall's impressive performances throughout the season have garnered significant attention and praise from fans and pundits alike.

Bergvall's debut season with Tottenham has been remarkable.  After joining from Djurgårdens IF in July 2024, he quickly adapted to the Premier League's demands, making 45 appearances across all competitions.  

Notably, he scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg, becoming the club's youngest League Cup scorer since Gareth Bale in 2007.  

 His consistent performances earned him a new six-year contract, securing his future with Spurs until 2031.
