Sowore Slams Obi: 'Money Launderer-In-Chief' Remark Sparks Controversy

The dispute arose after Sahara Reporters published a story alleging Obi secretly met President Bola Tinubu in Rome to discuss a ₦225 billion debt to Fidelity Bank.

Obi denied the claims, stating he attended Pope Francis's inauguration and had no such meeting. Sowore called Obi "Money Launderer-In-Chief," referencing the Pandora Papers scandal and accusing him of dishonesty. Obi dismissed the report as blackmail, clarifying he doesn't own Fidelity Bank. Sowore stood by his claims, mocking Obi's version and criticizing alleged fraudsters in Nigeria.
