Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Inter Milan are gearing up for a historic clash in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final, set for May 31 at Munich’s Allianz Arena. This matchup is being hailed as a battle for the “biggest trophy in the world” in club football, marking the first time since 2004 that the final features no English, Spanish, or German club.

PSG, chasing their first-ever Champions League title, have defied expectations after a shaky league phase, finishing 15th but powering through knockouts with wins over Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal. Led by Luis Enrique, their attacking flair, driven by Ousmane Dembélé (25 goals in 28 appearances in 2025) and a revitalized squad post-Mbappé, has made them slight favorites, with Opta’s supercomputer giving them a 53.6% chance of victory.

Inter Milan, aiming for their fourth European crown and first since 2010 under José Mourinho, have shown tactical discipline and resilience. Finishing fourth in the league phase, they dispatched Feyenoord, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona in a thrilling 7-6 aggregate semi-final. Simone Inzaghi’s experienced side, featuring veterans like Francesco Acerbi and Yann Sommer, relies on a solid defense and counter-attacking prowess, with Lautaro Martínez and Denzel Dumfries in top form.

This final pits PSG’s high-pressing, free-flowing attack against Inter’s structured 3-5-2 system, promising a clash of styles. It’s the first competitive meeting between the two, adding intrigue. PSG have the edge in betting odds (1.65 to lift the trophy vs. Inter’s 2.20), but Inter’s knack for grinding out results makes this a tight call. The winner will also secure spots in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Intercontinental Cup, and 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.
