Netanyahu Accuses France, Britain, and Canada of 'Emb Collaborating' with Hamas
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly criticized France, Britain, and Canada, accusing their leaders of 'emboldening' Hamas by threatening to take 'concrete action' if Israel continues its military offensive in Gaza. Netanyahu contended that these countries' stance, which calls for halting Israel's military operations and lifting restrictions on aid, actually supports Hamas and encourages continued violence.
Netanyahu reiterated his view that recognition of a Palestinian state would threaten Israel’s security, framing such moves as empowering Hamas to continue its attacks. He also accused Western countries of unintentionally aiding Hamas by their diplomatic positions, claiming that their actions indirectly reward terrorist activity.

French, British, and Canadian officials rejected Netanyahu's accusations. France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot affirmed France’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security but emphasized the importance of de-escalation and lasting peace solutions. Similarly, Britain’s armed forces minister Luke Pollard expressed support for Israel’s right to defend itself, but highlighted the need to conduct operations within international humanitarian law and ensure aid reaches Gaza.
Israel’s current military campaign in Gaza follows the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, which resulted in over 1,200 deaths and thousands of hostages. The conflict has led to a humanitarian crisis, with over 53,000 Palestinians killed and extensive destruction across Gaza.
