(In United Kingdom) Greta Thunberg Joins Freedom Flotilla to Challenge Israel's Gaza Blockade

 

Greta Thunberg is joining the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's mission to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and challenge Israel’s blockade.

The ship, Madleen, will depart from Sicily with other high-profile activists, including actor Liam Cunningham and MEP Rima Hassan. This move follows a previous flotilla attempt that ended after an alleged drone strike in international waters.

The upcoming voyage aims to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and protest restrictions on aid access. Participants accuse Israel of enforcing a deadly blockade and demand international accountability. 

Despite a recent easing of the blockade, aid has barely reached Palestinians, with chaotic distributions leading to casualties. Thunberg’s presence signals a fusion of climate and human rights advocacy, broadening the scope of her global activism.
