The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is facing backlash in Nigeria after releasing the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Out of 1,955,069 candidates, over 1.5 million scored less than 200.
With the average pass mark for the UTME being 200 out of a 400 total score, netizens have expressed worry and disappointment at the seeming educational rot in the country.

Other netizens have further extended harsh criticism to students who participated in the examination with the argument that many teenagers today are unserious and spend a great deal of what should be their study time, engaging in frivolous activities on social media.
