(In Nigeria) Buchi's Blunder: 'Big Fat Fool' Sticks After Chelsea's CL Spot

Big Fat Fool is making waves in Nigeria, and you wonder why such pejorative language is on the trend table.

Here's why. The reduplicative insult comes from a cheeky and very loud comeback aimed at Nigerian sports journalist Buchi Laba.

Last month, Buchi boldly declared that Chelsea had zero chance of finishing in the top four.

He looked at their final fixtures—Manchester City, Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and Newcastle and wrote them off like expired jollof.

To spice things up, he added that if Chelsea somehow pulled it off, fans should call him a Big Fat Fool.

Yes, he said it with his chest.

Fast forward to the final game of the season and the gods of banter went to work.

Manchester United, who had no business near the top 15, beat Aston Villa. Everton decided to shock Newcastle just for vibes. Chelsea?

They had only one mission: beat Forest or at least hold a draw.

Mission accomplished.

A 51st-minute tap-in from Levi Colwill sealed the win, and Chelsea booked their Champions League slot.

Then came the roast: Chelsea fans dug up Buchi’s old tweet and served him hot. He begged them to stop, but it was too sweet.

Now he’s the official BFF; Big Fat Fool and unless he apologises, the name is going nowhere.
