(In Ghana) Empress Gifty Sues Nana Agradaa for GH₵20 Million Over Defamatory Remarks

Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty has filed a GH₵20 million defamation lawsuit against Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, widely known as Nana Agradaa, at the Tema High Court. The legal action stems from alleged slanderous and libelous statements made by Agradaa during a heated social media feud involving Gifty’s husband, Hopeson Adorye.

According to the lawsuit, Agradaa verbally attacked Adorye on May 13, 2025, during a live broadcast on platforms including Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. In the outburst, Agradaa allegedly referred to Empress Gifty as “a dog and prostitute” and used other derogatory terms, tarnishing the gospel singer’s reputation. Gifty claims these statements have caused significant personal and professional damage, including backlash on social media and harm to her international music engagements.

Empress Gifty is seeking GH₵20 million in damages for slander and libel, an injunction to prevent further defamatory remarks, and an order for Agradaa to remove all related videos and audio from her social media platforms. The case has sparked widespread discussion about accountability in public discourse
