(In Ghana) AMA's Tudu Decongestion Exercise: A Mix of Enforcement and Compassion

 




The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has embarked on a decongestion exercise in Tudu, a popular area in Accra, Ghana. The operation was led by AMA officials.

The decongestion exercise led to roads being cleared out and traders removed from illegal trading points, thus easing the flow of traffic.

Tudu is also trending because during the decongestion exercise earlier today, Accra Mayor, Michael Kpakpo Allotey, gifted a 71 year old trader GH¢1000.

The gesture from the mayor elicited reactions of jubilation from the recipient and other traders.
