Protests Erupt: South Africans Demand Justice for Cwecwe, Accountability for Police Minister

Senzo Mchunu is trending in South Africa because netizens have clamoured for the sack or resignation of the Police Minister following allegations that he lied about obtaining the DNA of the principal of Bergview College, a school where a 7 year old pupil named Cwecwe had been raped-anal and vaginal-within its premises.

Outraged citizens have in the last few weeks, called for justice for Cwecwe, a movement which has intensified as a result of allegations that the police had failed to retrieve DNA evidence from the school principal who is a prime suspect in the 7 year old's rape.

SANDF is now trending because subsequent to the earlier call for Police Minister Senzo Mchunu's resignation, netizens have vehemently opposed the deployment of officers of The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) for purposes of security enforcement in areas where the JusticeforCweCwe National Shutdown protests are taking place across the country.

Netizens have expressed disappointment with the government for trying to intimidate peaceful protesters by deploying SANDF operatives to the protest areas instead of allowing the police do their usual job of maintaining peace and order during protests.
