As Blondie’s drummer, his passing sparked tributes for his punk and new wave legacy, with hits like "Heart of Glass." Bandmates Debbie Harry and Chris Stein mourned him as Blondie’s "heartbeat".

Clem Burke, born November 24, 1954, in New Jersey, rose to fame as Blondie’s drummer, joining in 1975.


 His energetic style defined their sound across decades. Beyond Blondie, he worked with icons like Iggy Pop and Joan Jett. 


A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee in 2006, Burke also pioneered drumming health research, leaving a lasting mark until his death in 2025.
