(In Nigeria) Pastor Poju Slams Nigerian Youths: 'Lazy' and 'Ungrateful

Pastor Poju Oyemade has sparked controversy with his comments on Nigerian youths, describing some as "lazy," "ungrateful," and "programmed by social media to hate their country.

According to him, the widespread criticisms of the government are driven by a lack of appreciation for the opportunities available in Nigeria.

In a video, Pastor Poju, the founder of Covenant Nation, shared his views on the country's youth and their perception of Nigeria.

He argued that many Nigerian youths, particularly those who criticize the government, are not grateful for the opportunities they have.

For instance, he compared the high cost of education in Nigeria with lower tuition fees in the US, suggesting that Nigerian students should appreciate the chance to study at all.

He also pointed out that the official unemployment rate in Nigeria is hard to determine, as many people work off the records, making it difficult to gauge the true joblessness situation.

While some  supporters agreed with Poju, interpreting his comments as a critique of the Obidients group, others strongly disagreed, noting that his comparisons were flawed.

Critics pointed out that working conditions in Nigeria differ vastly from those in the US, particularly regarding jobs like driving Uber.

Furthermore, some Nigerians criticized Poju for not addressing the ongoing security issues in the North, particularly the killings of Christians.
