(In Nigeria) Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Closed After Devastating Accident

 

A devastating multiple vehicle crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, specifically at Kara Bridge inward OPIC caused severe gridlock early Friday.

 The accident, which occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, led to long tailbacks reaching Otedola Bridge.

 LASTMA confirmed the incident and deployed emergency teams to rescue victims and remove debris. Traffic was later restored after the affected vehicles were cleared from the road.

LASTMA has announced that the road is now fully reopened, although traffic personnel remain at the scene to manage the lingering backlog. 

Commuters are advised to remain patient as the situation normalises. The quick response from emergency teams helped minimise further disruption.

 Authorities urge drivers to adhere to safety regulations to prevent future occurrences on this major expressway connecting Lagos to the southwest and northern parts of the country.
