(In Kenya): Kiambu Governor Wamatangi Arrested in Dawn Raid over Graft Claims.

 

Wamatangi is Sparking reactions in Kenya because of a viral but false report claiming the EACC raided his home and seized KSh12 million and USD13,000 in cash as part of a KSh1.5 billion fraud probe. 

The graphic mimicking a Nation Media headline was debunked by Africa Check as fake, with no credible sources confirming such a raid or investigation against Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi.

Despite the fabricated report, public attention on corruption remains high, fuelled by real cases like former Kiambu Governor Waititu’s conviction for embezzling county funds.

The EACC has recently recovered billions in assets, including cash and land titles, and arrested officials linked to major graft scandals.
