Gertrude Torkonoo is breaking out in Ghana because the Chief Justice and Head of The Judiciary has been suspended by President John Dramani Mahama.
In a statement, presidential spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, revealed that the Chief Justice was suspended after a prima facie case was established against her in relation to three petitions filed by the president in consultation with The Council of State.

Following Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo's suspension, One of the nine justices of the Supreme Court who is also the most senior on the bench, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, is reportedly likely to take over as acting Chief Justice.
