(In Ghana): Kumasi Mayor's Ultimatum to Livestock Traders.

Kumasi Mayor Richard Kwasi Ofori Boadi Agyemang has issued a stern warning to livestock owners in the city, cautioning them to keep their animals off the streets. During a press conference on Monday, April 14, 2025, Mayor Boadi announced that any stray cattle found roaming the city, particularly on the stretch leading to Manhyia, will be captured, slaughtered, and used to feed inmates at the Kumasi Central Prison.

Key Points:

- Effective Date: The mayor's directive will take effect from May 1, 2025.

- Target Areas: The areas from the airport leading to Manhyia will be closely monitored.

- Reasoning: Mayor Boadi emphasized that it's unacceptable for visitors to encounter stray animals and feces on the streets, hindering smooth traffic flow.

In addition to addressing stray animals, Mayor Boadi also tackled the issue of street traders operating on pavements and roadsides in the Adum area. He issued a two-week ultimatum for traders to vacate these areas, warning that failure to comply will result in harsh penalties, including public lashings.
