(In Croatia) Tragic Accident Claims Life of Ex-Croatia Footballer Nikola Pokrivac

Former Croatian international Nikola Pokrivac, aged 39, died in a tragic four-vehicle accident in Karlovac, Croatia, on April 18, 2025. The crash claimed another life and left two of Pokrivac’s teammates from NK Vojnic, a fourth-tier club, in critical condition. 

The Croatian Football Federation expressed profound grief, with President Marijan Kustic struggling to find words for the loss of such a young life. Pokrivac, a talented midfielder, played a key role at Dinamo Zagreb and earned 15 caps for Croatia between 2008 and 2010.
