Gaza 'hell on earth' as hospital supplies running out, warns head of Red Cross

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached a critical point, with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warning of catastrophic consequences. President of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spoljaric, describes the situation as "hell on earth," citing severe shortages of essential supplies like food, water and medicine. The ICRC's field hospital is expected to run out of vital supplies within two weeks, putting countless lives at risk.

The situation is further complicated by the risks faced by humanitarian workers, with recent incidents resulting in the deaths of aid workers and concerns over the safety of medical facilities. The ICRC is calling for an immediate ceasefire to address these critical issues and facilitate the release of remaining hostages. With 22 out of 36 hospitals in Gaza barely functional and medical supplies dwindling rapidly, international attention is focused on resolving this crisis. The World Health Organization reports that antibiotics and blood bags are in short supply, exacerbating the dire situation.
