Deadly Clash Erupts in Bawku, Ghana: One Dead, Several Injured as Market Access Tensions Escalate

 

 Bawku is trending in Ghana because that's the town where a clash between the Kusasi youth security services occurred as a result of access to markets.The clash which marks the latest in a series of conflict in Bawku, a town that has experienced lingering unrest for many years, left 1 person dead, several others injured with the police station, a police vehicle and the commissioner's residence in Kpalwega burned.

The violent situation in Bawku has led to heavy military presence in the area, restoring some measure of calmness.The Kusasi youths who have now been tagged "bandits" have also expressed severe displeasure with President John Dramani Mahama on claims that he is yet to fulfill any of his campaign promises to  Bawku.
