The existing record, set in 1983 by Roberta Brown and Lorraine McCourt in Ireland, stands at 36 hours and 45 minutes. As of the latest update, Ololade has already surpassed the 60-hour mark, defying physical and mental exhaustion.
Ololade's bold endeavor aims to rewrite the record books and cement her place in history. "I'm driven by the desire to inspire Nigerians and Africans to push beyond their limits," she said. "This record attempt is not just about me; it's about showcasing our resilience and determination."
Walking on a catwalk for an extended period poses significant physical and mental challenges. Ololade must contend with fatigue, muscle cramps, and sleep deprivation, all while maintaining her poise and composure. The catwalk's narrow surface and constant spotlight add to the difficulty.
To prepare for this feat, Ololade underwent rigorous training, including:
1. Intensive physical conditioning to build endurance.
2. Mental preparation techniques to manage stress and focus.
3. Catwalk training to perfect her stride and balance.
Nigerians have rallied behind Ololade, offering words of encouragement and support on social media:
