Chief Executive Officer of technology company Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has announced the release of a working prototype of  an augmented-reality glasses, named "Orion". The CEO who unveiled the glasses at a Meta Connect event, Orion is the most advanced pair of AR glasses ever made.  Explaining important features of the augmented-reality(AR) glasses, Mark Zuckerberg stated that Orion combines the look and feel of a regular pair of glasses with the immersive capabilities of augmented reality – and it’s the result of breakthrough inventions in virtually every field of modern computing. The billionaire geek further stated that Meta is focused on further optimizing Orion to make it smaller, more fashionable, and affordable.

Geeks and technology enthusiasts have tagged the introduction of Orion a "declaration of war" on Apple's mixed reality product, "Vision pro". Orion uses advanced display architecture, including nanoscale projectors and custom silicon. Users can control it using AI, voice commands, and a neural interface linked to a wristband. Orion is however not yet available for public purchase but according to Meta, select external audience will obtain access to the AR glasses.
