Video: Mercy Johnson Trolled over Latest APC Campaign

Nollywood actor and social media influencer, Mercy Johnson, is currently the recipient of harsh criticism from Nigerian social media users over her latest video soliciting support for The APC and the party's candidate, Monday Okpebholo, in the governorship election of Edo state scheduled to hold on 21st September, 2024. Mercy's husband, Prince Odianosen Okojie, who represents Esan North East/South East Federal Constituency of Edo State in the House of Representatives, is also the coordinator of The APC's Edo Central Campaign Council.

Reacting to the now viral video of Mercy Johnson soliciting support for The APC while giving a list of the lack of amenities in Edo state like poor electricity, absence of potable water and quality health services, Nigerians ironically observed that these alleged failures of The PDP in Edo state, are also failures of mercy's party, APC, at the federal and national level. Some social media users are currently agitating that Mercy Johnson be boycotted as an actor and filmmaker. They also warned that she might soon face the kind of public cancellation, trolling and dislike regularly meted her Nollywood colleagues, Toyin Abraham and Eniola Badmus, who publicly expressed support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the presidential election of February 2023.
