Rich Homie Quan is Dead

 American rapper Dequantes Devontay Lamar, better known as Rich Homie Quan, has died at the age of 34. The rapper who reportedly died from a drug overdose, was found in his Atlanta home on the morning of Thursday 5th September, 2024. Social media has been flooded with tributes and expressions of grief from fans and fellow musicians alike. Quan's survived by his four sons, the oldest of whom was born in the year 2006 even though Quan was unaware of the child's existence until 5 years afterwards.

Rich Homie Quan rose to fame in 2013 with his hit single "Type of Way," a track that secured his place in mainstream hip-hop when it at number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100. He followed up with fan favorites like "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)" and collaborated with top artists such as Young Thug and 2 Chainz. Alongside fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug, Lamar was a member of Cash Money Records' spin-off project Rich Gang, who found success with their 2014 single "Lifestyle". The deceased rapper's debut studio album, Rich as in Spirit (2018) moderately entered the Billboard 200. In October 2022, Quan released his EP Family & Mula, which included the single “Krazy” and one guest appearance from NoCap. Speaking of the EP’s release, Quan said he felt good to have a project out after not releasing one in over 3 years. The EP was rereleased on November 18, 2022.
