Founder of The New Nigeria Peoples Party(NPP) and former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has declared his intention to contest in and win Nigeria's presidential election of 2027. The politician who was The NPP's candidate in the presidential election of February 2023 and made it to fourth place behind Mr Atiku Abubakar and Mr Peter Obi, made the outburst on Saturday 7th September 2024, when he inaugurated the NNPP Secretariat, along IBB Way, Katsina state. The NPP founder and leader asserted that his party was ready to take over the presidency, governorship and other political positions across the country come 2027.

Reacting to Mr Kwankwaso's declaration of his intention for the presidency in 2027, some netizens expressed hilarity to his declaration and labelled the NPP founder a "dreamer". Other netizens harshly criticized Mr Kwankwaso while asserting him the "real definition of a local champion". They observed that the politicians clearly has no interest of the Nigerian people at heart while wondering if the former governor of Kano state had received any form of incentive from president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to distract citizens from their goal of choosing a suitable in the year 2027. Mr Kwankwaso was also warned that he was well on his way into turning himself the next Atiku Abubakar - a politician with constant losses and very few wins, a testament of repeated rejection from the public.
