Veteran Actor Francis Duru Loses Son

 Veteran Nollywood actor, Francis Duru, has suffered the loss of his second son, Ifeanyi. The grieving father announced the passing of the 15 year old on a post on his official social media account with deep words that have left netizens mourning with the family. Fans, colleague and social media followers of the actor have sent consolatory messages his way. In May 2023, Francis Duru and his wife, Adokiye, who tied the knot in 2003, celebrated their 20th anniversary and until the loss of their 15 year old son, had three children together.  Francis and Adokiye started a relationship as undergraduates at the University of Port Harcourt.

Francis Duru's career gained public attention in 1994 after featuring in an action comedy movie titled Rattle Snake, a movie produced by now deceased director, Amaka Igwe, he played a significant role as "Ahanna". Duru is a recipient of the United Nations Ambassador of Peace award for his positive influence on youths. He won Best Actor in a Leading Role (Igbo) award in 2020 Best of Nollywood Awards for his role in Mboputa.
