Tobi Amusan Crashes Out of Olympics 2024 Final

 Nigerian track and field athlete Oluwatobiloba Ayomide Amusan better known as Tobi Amusan, who is the current world record holder in the 100 metres hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds which she set in 2022, has failed to qualify at the  finals of the women’s 100m hurdles at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics. The sprinter who was filed out in the sixth lane, finished in third place with a time of 12.55 seconds in the Heat 1 of the event on Friday 9th August, 2024. Tobi Amusan's loss is another disappointing failure of Nigerian sporting teams to win gold medals at their games at the Olympics.

The qualified athletes for the final of the women’s 100m hurdles include: Grace Stark (USA), Devynne Charlton (Bahamas), Alaysha Johnson (USA), Nadine Visser (Netherlands), Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (Puerto Rico), Masai Russell (USA), Ackera Nugent (Jamaica) and Cyrena Samba-Mayela (France). Ms Amusan who recently had the anti-doping rule violation levelled against her by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) dismissed by The Court of Arbitration for Sports, is yet to speak of her loss at The Olympics.
