President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to leave Nigeria on Wednesday 14 August 2024 and embark on a three day visit to Equatorial Guinea in honour of an invitation extended Equatorial Guinea's president, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasongo. Special Adviser to the president on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, who informed Nigerians of the impending trip, said president Tinubu will accompanied by the minister of foreign affairs, Yusuf Tuggar and other unnamed members of the presidential cabinet.

Mr Ngelale in providing details of the purpose of the president's visit to Equatorial Guinea, said that meetings will be held between the two heads of state and agreements, specifically on oil and gas and security, expected to be signed. The Special Adviser also stated that there will be a review of existing and potential opportunities to improve bilateral relations between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
