Miss Universe: South Africans Express Solidarity with Miss Kwara

 A few weeks after the backlash that occurred between Nigerian and South African social media users over the withdrawal of Chidinma Adetshina from The Miss South Africa 2024 Beauty Pageant as a result of controversy surrounding her true nationality, some South African users have expressed support for Ufa Dania, the Kwara state representative in the Miss Universe 2024 beauty pageant. The South Africans social media users(especially on X) took to The Miss Universe Nigeria voting platform to provide extensive votes for Miss Kwara and in process, made her the contestant with the highest votes.

Explaining the reason for the decision to push Miss Kwara's quest to become Miss Universe Nigeria, the South Africans stated that Ufa Dania had been heavily bullied and received heavy criticism from Nigerians as a result of her less than conventional appearance as opposed to the typical appearance expected of a beauty pageant. The South Africans further claimed that Nigerians had referred to Miss Kwara with all sorts of derogatory names while still deigning to have an opinion on how South Africa conducted the Miss South Africa beauty pageant that led to the emergence of Mia Le Roux, a South African of Dutch ancestry, as Miss South Africa 2024.
