The website and domain address of commercial bank, Guaranty Trust Bank(GTB), has been reportedly hacked. The domain name was also allegedly for the next 5years-13 August 2024-21 March 2029- by the cyber criminals. Multiple attempts by the bank's customers to log on the website www.gtbank.com has returned error signs with the hackers appearing to have created a separate HTTP layer of the website in a spoofing attempt. The bank's mobile website and iOS applications seemingly unaffected by this domain hijacking.

While no one has claimed responsibility for the hacked website, the fraudulent activities appeared to have commenced on the night of Wednesday 14 August, 2024. There's yet no official response or statement from The GT Bank management regarding the compromised state of their website.
