American rapper, hype man, and radio personality, Isaac Freeman III, better known as Fatman Scoop, has died. The 53 year old rapper passed away on the morning of 31st August 2024 at a hospital where he was rushed to after he collapsed on stage during a performance in Hamden, Connecticut. While the cause of Fatman's death is currently unknown, Sharron Elkabas, CEO of MN2S, Freeman's PR firm, told the Hollywood Reporter that Freeman drank an energy drink seconds before going onstage and that "He never drank energy drinks, but he did before this show." Freeman's collapse on stage and eventual death is one more number on the growing list of singers and performance who have collapsed and eventually passed away while on stage.

Fatman Scoop first came to prominence with the release of single "Be Faithful", which topped the charts in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland in October 2003, and peaked within the top ten of the charts in Denmark and Australia. The song had been a favorite in clubs around the world for years but it took two years to clear the samples from Jay-Z, Black Sheep, Queen Pen, The Beatnuts and Faith Evans. He collaborated with numerous artists, such as Lil Jon, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Pitbull and Skrillex, among others. In addition to his music career, Fatman Scoop Fatman Scoop owned an ice cream parlor and hosted a relationship show/podcast.
