Former governor of Rivers State and current minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has berated FCT senator, Ireti Kingibe over her remarks at an interview with Arise TV. The senator who is a member of the Labour Party, had while speaking as a guest on Arise TV, stated that she was not impressed with Wike's dealings and achievements as the FCT minister. While citing the areas she found him lacking, the senator emphasized that she was not a friend of the minister.

Responding to Senator Kingibe criticism of him, Nyesom Wike while speaking during the flag-off of the construction of the Mabushi Bus Terminal in Abuja, asserted that he'd ensure Senator Kingibe's loss at the electoral poll in the year 2027. Emphasizing his fearless and asserting his dominance over the FCT which he labelled his "territory", Minister Wike urged the senator to commit suicide if she was unhappy with the progress being made in the Federal Capital Territory by his 11 month old administration.
