Pitch to Pulpit: Roberto Firmino Becomes Pastor

 Former Liverpool striker and Brazil national team member Roberto Firmino, has become a pastor at the age of 32. Firmino who has in the last few years, openly declared his status as a Christian, was baptised in 2020 by gospel singer Isaias Saad, in the swimming pool of Liverpool teammate, Alisson Becker. The attacking midfielder took to his Instagram page to announce his new role as a pastor in the evangelical church(named Manah Church) he cofounded threw years ago, with his wife, Larissa Pereira, in his hometown of Maceiรณ, capital city of the state of Alagoas, Brazil.

In a joint statement announcing their new roles, Roberto and Larissa wrote: "Since our first encounter with Christ, a desire burned in our hearts. We want people to feel this love that reached us. Now we have another desire and responsibility: to become pastors on behalf of God." Firmino married Larissa Pereira in his hometown in June 2017 and they have four children together.
