Governor of Ogun state, Adedapo Abiodun, has announced the introduction of electric bikes and tricycles into the Ogun State transport system. The governor who made a post on his social media platforms stated that the launch of the electric bikes and tricycle is to significantly reduce transport costs, mitigate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal as well as promote a cleaner environment.

The governor further revealed that the unveiling of the latest electric means of transportation, an event which falls under the second phase of the state's Energy Transition Programme, reflects the state government's commitment to innovation, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment, all part of the “Building Our Future Together” agenda. Governor Abiodun also stated that another part of the programme is the ongoing construction of a new assembly facility in Iperu Remo, in order to create thousands of jobs and support Ondo youths.
