Former Minister of Power Mamman Saleh, collapsed outside the premises of an Abuja Federal High Court moments before his 33 billion naira laundering case was called for trial. The former minister who served from 2019 to 2021, is standing trial over a 12-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of 33.8 billion naira while he was in office. On May 10, 2021, he was arrested and detained at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Abuja. On September 1, 2021, Mamman was sacked by former president Muhammadu Buhari on grounds of conspiracy and funds diversion, he was replaced by minister of State for Works and Housing, Abubakar Aliyu.

Shortly before Mamman Saleh was called up for arraignment this morning, the former Minister’s counsel, Femi Ate, SAN, told the presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, that his client had collapsed. In Mr Ate's words:“Upon being brought into the premises of the court, he collapsed and had to be resuscitated and treated by the medical personnel of the Federal High Court.”
