Godswill Akpabio: Nigerians Call for Senate President's Resignation

 Many Nigerians have taken to the social media platform X, to trend the hashtag #AkpabioMustGo, in demand of the resignation of Nigeria's Senate President, Godswill Akpabio. Netizens have accused the Senate President of being insensitive to the plight of the Nigerians while citing his penchant for making a mockery of the poor and less privileged in the country.

The wide demand for the Senate President's Resignation which was accompanied by a ten day ultimatum, intensified after he shared his opinion regarding the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests scheduled to commence on 1st August, 2024. Mr Akpabio who expressed displeasure over the intending protest on Tuesday 30th July, while speaking to delegates of the Niger Delta Development Commission in Rivers State, said: "Those who want to protest can protest, but let us be there eating — I must thank the Niger Delta."
