FG Announces Resumption of UAE Travel

 Nearly two years after the government of The United Arab Emirates imposed a visa ban on Nigerians, the Federal Government via a social media post by Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, has revealed the resumption of travel to  The UAE for Nigerian passport holders. The minister stated that an agreement was reached following mutually beneficial negotiations between the government of The UAE and Federal Government of Nigeria.

Emphasizing that the new agreement between the two countries includes updated controls and condition, The Information Minister revealed the resumption of visa issuance for Nigerians to The UAE commences today, 15th July 2024. This latest announcement of a lift of the visa ban comes 10 months after Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a press statement, erroneously announced that the visa ban on Nigerians had been lifted by the government of The UAE, following an alleged meeting held by President Tinubu and President Zayed in September 2022.
