Ekiti State Government set to Offer Free Surgeries to 700 Residents

 The Government of Ekiti State has announced plans to offer free surgeries to 700 residents of the state for a period of three months. The Ekiti Commissioner of Health, Dr Oyebanji Filani, who disclosed this initiative while speaking as a guest on a radio programme said that the free surgeries would cover procedures such as appendectomies, cataract surgeries and fibroid removals. The commission further made a list of some free services the current government has provided in the 177 health centers across Ekiti state, such as: Immunisation, deworming, family planning, nutrition, HIV, and tuberculosis care.

In the words of Dr Oyebanji Filani: The free surgical initiative underscores the state government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare access for underserved and financially disadvantaged residents. As I speak, over 700 residents are scheduled for free surgeries in the next three months.”
