One month after the release of his diss rap titled "Emi Lokan", rapper and songwriter, Eedris Abdulkareeem, has thrown open to the public a competition titled The "Emilokan Open Verse Challenge". The rapper urged anyone feeling sad about the country's current crises to record a verse and a video expressing their feelings. The winner of the freestyle will receive a cash prize of #100,000 naira and a feature song with the rapper himself.

In Eedris Abdulkareeem's diss track titled "Emi Lokan," which was released in June, the rapper highlighted all of the economic downturns in the country since the president assumed office while reminding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that he had been the leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC) during the administration of former president, Muhammadu Buhari. Eedris Abdulkareeem is well-known for his music style of creating lyrics around economic and political events in the country.
