Custody Battle: Sophia Momodu at Loggerheads with Davido

 Following the application for joint custody of Imade Adeleke filed by her father David Adeleke, better known as Davido, her mother, Sophia Momodu has in response to the application, stated reasons for her refusal to share custody of Imade with her father. As a counter to Davido's request, Sophia Momodu stated that the music star had long been estranged from their 9 year old daughter and thus, would be unable to establish meaningful presence in the child's life.

Sophia Momodu further cited Davido's recent wedding to another woman, Chioma Rowland, as a reason for her refusal. She emphasized that upbringing of Imade could not be guaranteed by a woman other than herself. Pointing out the tragic death of Davido's son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, in a home accident which occurred at singer's Banana Island home in November 2022, Sophia in her response, strongly stated that the questionable circumstances surrounding the young boy's death raised questions as to Davido's competence as a father.
