The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria(MACBAN) has commended President Bola Tinubu for establishing the Ministry of Livestock Development. The establishment of the ministry comes a few weeks after the cattle breeders implored the president to create their own ministry with the president asserting that the ministry's aim is to unlock the full economic potential of the livestock market. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized that a traditional livestock system must be reformed to add significant and sustainable value to Nigeria’s social economic growth and development.

In a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday 9th July, MACBAN president, Alhaji Baba Othman-Ngelzarma, while expressing gratitude to the president for granting their long wished-for request, pledged to turn livestock production into a foreign exchange earner, reduce farmer/ herder conflicts and its related security challenges. Alhaji Othman- Ngelzarma further asserted that with the establishment of the ministry, "the hope of the Nigerian pastoralists is now achieved under the Renew Hope Agenda."
