A woman identified as Habiba Ibrahim, has reportedly cut off the genitals of her 40 year old husband. The husband, who is a motorcycle rider named Idris Salisu, a resident of Kudan, Kaduna State, revealed that the incident happened on May 26 after his return from the early morning prayers. Mr Salisu revealed that he had been lying on his bed when his wife suddenly jumped on him with a sharp knife and cut off his manhood, he added that scream alerted his neighbours who rushed to his rescue. The bleeding motorcycle rider was taken to the General Hospital in Makarfi, from where he was later referred to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria for further treatment.
Expressing shock at his wife's action, Idris Salisu who stated that they had been married for four years, affirmed that there had been no marital issues which could have led to his wife's action. Confirming her son's revelation regarding his marriage, the victim's mother, Rabi Salisu, who had been caring for her son on his hospital bed stated that she had not notice any form of marital strain between her son and his wife prior to the attack. Mother and son also confirmed that the butcher bride, Habiba Ibrahim, had been arrested and detained at a police station in Zaria.
