Former governor of Anambra state and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, while speaking at a Democracy Day interview with Arise TV, has while giving a personal assessment on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's one year in office, declared that the president has performed excellently. The presidential aspirant emphasized that the president had during his campaign for the presidency consistently maintained that his goal was to continue from where former president Muhammadu Buhari stopped.

Providing highlights on some of the ways the president has redeemed his promise of following in former president Buhari's footsteps, Mr Peter Obi reminded Nigerians of the previous cost of fuel and diesel before the subsidy removal as well as the growth of the dollar rate against naira in the last one year. It will be recalled that a major point of president Tinubu's campaign in the 2023 presidential elections was the firm promise of the immediate removal of fuel subsidy.
