In a video making the rounds on the internet, officers of The Nigeria Police Force have been captured reciting the newly restored national anthem. In the video, many of the officers were seen mumbling and others reading from their phones in a bid to memorize the new anthem which was made mandatory by president of the country, Bola Ahmed Tinubu after the National Assembly passed a bill to relinquish "Arise, O Compatriots" replacing it with "Nigeria, We Hail Thee".

Arise, O Compatriots was the second national anthem of Nigeria, used from 1 October 1978 until 2024 after Nigeria, We Hail Thee was relinquished. On 29 May 2024, "Arise, O Compatriots" was officially relinquished following the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration's readoption of the 1st national anthem, "Nigeria, We Hail Thee" originally used from 1960 until 1978.
