Video: ABSUTH Staff Protest Unpaid Salaries

 Members of staff of The Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) have staged protest demanding payment of their salaries for the months of April and May 2024 as well as their salary arrears spanning a period of 21 months.  The medical and health workers of the teaching hospital in their protest, implored governor Alex Otti to pay them their money while reminding the government of the promises he had made to them.

Speaking during the protest, Chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Association Union,ABSUTH chapter, Comrade Chukwuemeka Ariwodo, expressed dissatisfaction at the manner in which the State Government has thus far handled their complaints despite their dedication to duty. Citing the economic crunch as a serious reason for the staged protest, Comrade Ariwodo urged the government to heed their requests as soon as possible in order to forestall an indefinite strike action.
