President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for stronger collaboration between Nigeria and The United States of America in the fight against cybercrime and terrorism. The president made this request known to Christopher Asher Wray, director of America's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) during a meeting at the presidential villa on Friday, June 14, 2024. The president informed the Director of The FBI that his administration is working hard to eliminate terrorism, cybercrimes and sextortion.
Responding to the president's call for collaboration, Christopher Asher Wray stated that he was in Nigeria to enhance the existing "outstanding partnership" between the Nigerian government and The US government. He praised the President Tinubu for his support of the growing partnerships between various agencies of government and the FBI in order to protect the citizens of both countries.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the domestic intelligence and security service of the United States and its principal federal law enforcement agency. A leading U.S. counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and criminal investigative organization, the FBI has jurisdiction over violations of more than 200 categories of federal crimes.
