Photos: Governors Step out in Style for Annual Governors' Meeting

On Monday 24th June 2024, governors across the South-West, South-South, and South-East geopolitical zones of Nigeria, gathered in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, to hold their annual meeting as a group. The group of governors who make up The Southern Governors' Forum, gathered at the Presidential Lodge, GRA Ibara, Abeokuta. Of the total number of 17 members who make up the Forum, sixteen members were in attendance(some sent representatives), with only Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, conspicuously absent and without representation at the meeting.

In the course of the meeting, governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun, emerged chairman of the forum and Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, assumed the role of vice-chairman, as announced by the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The list of governors in attendance at this year's forum, include: Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, Godwin Obaseki of Edo state, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti state, Alex Otti of Abia state, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, Duoye Diri of Bayelsa state, Peter Mbah of Enugu state, Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, Eno Uno and Bassey Otu of Akwa Ibom and Cross River states, respectively. All of the governors in attendance at the Southern Governors' Forum were decked in matching fabric and agbada style.
