Video:Night of Tribute in Mr Ibu's Honour

A night of tribute was on Wednesday 26 June 2024, held in honour of deceased Nollywood actor, John Okafor better known as Mr Ibu. The occasion took place in Enugu state where the actor's burial ceremony will take place tomorrow 28th June, in his hometown. The Night of Tributes had in attendance, fans and colleagues of the deceased including veterans like Charles Awurum, Victor Osuagwu, amongst others.

John Okafor AKA Mr Ibu, hailed from Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state. His acting roles included over 200 Nollywood films. Mr Ibu was considered one of Nigeria's most talented and highest paid comic characters. John Okafor earned the moniker "Mr Ibu" after the titular character of a blockbuster film he acted in 2004. However, John Okafor claimed to have inherited the name Mr Ibu from his grandfather.
