President of Kenya, William Ruto, has been ordered to issue his statement of resignation within 48 hours. The president was ordered to resign by Kenyan protesters and citizens, despite his withdrawal of the controversial finance bill which had ignited the protests in the first place. The finance bill which had been aimed at raising citizens taxes supposedly to relieve the country's debt burden, has sparked outrage amongst Kenyan citizens leading to a mass protest which caused a face-off between citizens and the Kenyan police.

In the statement calling for the resignation of president William Ruto who has been the country's president since 13 September 2022, Kenyan citizens stated that his tenure has been marked by mismanagement, incompetence and a persistent failure to address the nation's pressing need. The Citizens of The Republic of Kenya, stated that their vision is to have a country where the rule of law is respected, public officials held accountable and every citizen given the opportunity to thrive, hence the need for new leadership to achieve the goals.
